The 2021 WFJCSH&D conference will be held in the fall of 2021 at the St. Louis Marriott. This conference is only open to survivors and their descendants accompanied by their spouses/partners.
Check in for the conference opens Friday at 12 noon. There are Orthodox and Conservative/Reform Friday night Shabbat services followed by a festive Shabbat dinner that begins at 7 pm. After dinner there are gatherings for survivors by country of origin, for 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations, for all generations of the Kindertransport, and for spouses and partners. Saturday and Sunday are full days of speakers, workshops, and panels starting right after breakfast.
Workshops specifically for Survivors, 2nd Generation, 3rd Generation, Spouses or Partners will explore how being part of the survivor community has affected their lives with many relevant topics for each group. In addition, there will be inter-generational workshops and panels on Holocaust education, literary responses to Holocaust memory and experience, identity and spirituality.
After dinner on Saturday, there is music and dancing until the wee hours. Sunday evening includes a brief commemorative service with dinner followed by dancing. Monday, the conference concludes at 11 am with a panel discussion and closing ceremony. A post conference trip to visit Jewish St. Louis is scheduled. Details to come!
Please join us for a memorable three day experience as we gather together as a truly remarkable survivor community.
